No Peek Stew
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless stew meat
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 (4 oz) can mushroom stems and pieces
1 package dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup dry red wine (Merlot or Cabernet)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup water
Directions
Place meat in roasting pan. Mix other ingredients including liquid from mushrooms and pour over meat. Cover and cook in 325 degree oven for 3 hours. Do not peek while cooking. Meat will be very tender and you will have a thick rich brown gravy.
