Texas Pecan Pie

Ingredients


9-inch unbaked pie shell
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs, unbeaten
3/4 cup molasses
Juice of 1 lemon
3/4 cup broken pecans
1/4 cup pecan halves

Directions

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, molasses, and lemon juice. Beat with rotary beater.

Add broken pecans and pour into pastry lined pie pan. Place pecan halves around the edges of pie crust.

Bake in very hot oven (450 degrees) for 10 minutes. Decrease heat to moderate (350 degrees) and bake 30 minutes longer.
