Sourdough Pizza Crust

Ingredients


1 cup sourdough starter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 cup flour

Directions

Mix ingredients, working in the flour until a soft dough forms. Let dough rest for 15 minutes. Roll out and place on oiled pizza pan. Bake in 475 degree oven for 3 - 5 minutes, watch closely. Remove from oven; add sauce and favorite toppings and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Pizza Sauce

1/2 cup butter
2 medium onions (chopped)
3 cloves garlic (chopped)
10 ounces tomato puree
2 - 28 ounce cans whole tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon fresh ground pepper
3/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)

Sauté onions and garlic in butter until tender. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and basil. Simmer over medium high heat for 30 minutes or until thickened.
