Orange Fruit Cake Ingredients

2 and 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 and 1/2 cups candied fruitcake mix
1/2 cup Maraschino Cherries
1/2 cup pecan pieces
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1 tablespoon grated orange peal
3 tablespoons vinegar
and enough sour cream to make 1 cup
3/4 cup orange juice

Directions

Mix together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, allspice and salt. Add cut fruits and nuts. Mix well. Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add beaten eggs and orange rind. Beat well. Add vinegar and sour cream alternately with the flour mixture to the creamed ingredients. Mix until thoroughly blended. Pour into well greased 9 inch tube pan. Bake in 350 degree preheated oven for 1 hour. After cake is removed from oven, and while it is still hot, pour over it 1 cup sugar mixed with orange juice. Let cake cool before removing it from pan.
