Canadian Barbecue Spareribs

Ingredients


1/2 cup applesauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 cups packed brown sugar
6 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together. Use the mixture to marinate spareribs in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Bake or grill meat until done. Baste the meat with sauce as desired during cooking time. After meat is done wrap in foil and place in brown paper bag for 15 to 30 minutes to tenderize meat in it's own steam. Simmer any left over sauce until all sugar is dissolved and serve as extra sauce for those that like meat dripping with flavor.
